Copdock Weekly Update 25/11/2022

Reminders

Please remember that the gate opens at 8:40am and all children should be on the playground when the bell rings at 8:45am.  Anyone entering site after this time will be classed as late.  Please ensure all children have a coat with them every day, as well as their usual equipment and water bottle.  If a child is absent, please ensure you contact the office by 9:30am to report the absence on each day that they are away with details of their symptoms.  This enable us to keep our statutory records up to date.  Thank you for your continued support.

The deadline for ordering school photos to be delivered to the school is today!  Any orders placed after this deadline will incur delivery costs.

The deadline for ordering the Christmas Lunch is next Tuesday - please pre-order via the form - please let us know if you're having packed lunch.

The deadline for booking a Parent Consultation slot is also Tuesday.

ASC Collections

As the nights are getting colder and darker, please can parents come to the school to collect children from after school clubs rather than the children making their own way home.  We appreciate your support in ensuring the children remain safe.

Open Event

A big thank you to the staff and pupils who helped at our open event on Wednesday evening.  It's great to be able to show off our school to those who may be thinking about sending their children here next September.

Flu Vaccinations

If your child did not have the vaccination today and you would like them to, we do have a 'mop-up' session booked for Monday 5th December.  Please see the attached letter.  You only need to complete the consent for this session if you haven't already given or declined consent.  The portal for these consents will close at 15:45 on Friday 2nd December.

Parent Consultations

If you haven't already, please ensure you have logged into the school website to book your appointment.  Booking will close on Tuesday morning.  After that date you will need to contact the office to arrange an appointment.  Please ensure you keep to the 10 minute slots.  If you feel you need longer, please speak to the teacher to arrange an additional setting.  The consultations will take place in the school hall.  Please enter the school via the side ramped entrance and wait in Squirrels classroom until you are called through.

Dress Down

Thursday is the dress down for the PTA Christmas Fayre.  Children are invited into school in non-uniform for the day (PE will be adapted as required) in exchange for something for the fayre - maybe a bottle for the bottle stall, or a prize for the tombola?  Smart uniform will be required again on Friday as we have special events so please ensure there's nothing too elaborate on Thursday.

Tree Service

Please be aware that the family sharing assembly will be held at 9am next week to allow for the celebrations in the afternoon.  Parents are welcome to join us from 1:15pm to assist the children in decoration making.  There is then an opportunity for parents to join us at 2:45pm for our annual advent tree service.

Data Collection

We would like to make you aware that we are looking at new ways of collecting and maintaining data from you rather than sending out our annual forms for checking.  Hopefully we'll have more on this very soon.  In the meantime, if you change address, or telephone number/email address please ensure you let us know so that our records are kept up to date in case of emergency.  Please also let us know if any numbers are no longer in use - we have recently called some landlines that are no longer valid.

Christmas Performances

There will be 2 showings of each of the Christmas performances - one in the afternoon and one in the evening.  2 tickets are available per family.  Please book your 2 tickets via the school website.  If you are interested in additional tickets, should these become available, please email the office so that we can let you know if there are any.  If you have any special requirements (ie wheelchair access) please let us know so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

Christmas Fayre **Breaking News!**

We've just had confirmation from the big guy in red himself, that he will be at the Christmas Fayre next month to see all the children who would like to find out if they are on the nice or naughty list!

This year we are going to trial a booking system to hopefully minimise queuing time, meaning you will all have more time to have fun playing the games!  Tickets are £3.50 per child and include a gift.  Payment is still to be made on the day when you arrive at the Grotto.  Booking are within a 15-minute time slot so there may still be a little wait when you arrive at the Grotto but please bear with us, Santa's helpers will get you in as quick as possible!  If you are planning to visit Santa, we would kindly encourage as many of you to reserve a slot as this would help us out greatly and we really appreciate it.  Please use the link below to make your reservation.  Any questions please let a member of the PTA know  ?????
