Copdock Weekly Update 24/03/2023

Easter Trail

Don't forget the PTA have organised an Easter Trail for this Sunday.  Please see attached for further details.

Swimming

As it's the last session of the term on Monday, please can children bring a t-shirt and shorts or pyjamas for swimming next week.

Easter Lunch

On Wednesday we have a change to the menu as our caterers are offering an Easter Lunch - please see the attached.  There is no need to pre-order, jacket potatoes will still be available on the day.  The price is the same as the usual menu.

Cross Country

If your child is participating in the Cross Country on Wednesday, please ensure you have notified the office of how they will be travelling to and from the event.  Pupils need to come into school wearing their PE kit and bring snacks and water.  Please ensure they have coats and warm clothing as the children will be waiting between races.  Transporters should arrive at school at 1pm in order to arrive at Royal Hospital School for 1:30pm, meeting at the Parade Ground car park.  Pupils will have time to eat a hot dinner at school if they prefer, before heading to RHS.

Parent Consultations

Bookings close this evening for Parent Consultation slots.  If you have yet to make an appointment or wish to change it once they have closed, please contact the office.  Please come to the school a little earlier than your appointment and try to keep to 10 minute meetings.  Children are encouraged to attend their appointment.

Easter Service

We welcome families in for our Easter Service being held at school this year at 2:45pm on Thursday.  The children will be parading their bonnets at the service - these should come into school at the beginning of the day.

STEM Federation Event

Next Friday sees the whole Federation come together at the Village Hall for a STEM event.  Children should be dropped at school at the usual time.  Once registered they will walk up to the Village Hall.  Parents are invited to attend from 2pm to see what the children have been doing.  ALL children should be collected from the Village Hall, children are able to leave from 3:10pm.  If your child is due to attend After School Club please let the office know so that we can arrange for them to return to school after the event.  Hot dinners will still be available to order on the day as a grab & go option.  Children will just need to bring their water bottles and any packed lunches.  Please ensure they have coats with them for walking to the Village Hall.  Please see the attached letter for full details of the day.

End of Term

Please note as the last day of term will be spent at the Village Hall, all medication will need to be collected by an adult.  Please also ensure all dinner monies have been paid up to date.  If you are unsure how much you owe, please contact the office.  Don't forget to keep collecting the Lego tokens in the local press - we have a collection box in the office just waiting to receive some tokens.

Woodpeckers Trip

On Thursday 20th April Woodpeckers will be attending the School Farm & Country Fair at Trinity Park.  Unfortunately we have been unable to secure a coach for the event.  We are therefore looking for some offers of assistance from parents to transport the children and possibly to spend the day with them.  If you think you might be able to help, please let the office know before the end of term.

Third Party Information

Every week we get sent information from clubs, groups, companies and so on, who ask us to share information with you.  Rather than email these home, we add them to the website here.  Please do take a look regularly.  We have recently added details of upcoming parent workshops, there are posters about holiday clubs and there is always something going on in the community that you might find interesting.
