Copdock Weekly Update 23/06/17

Sports Day: Tuesday saw our annual sporting event. A big thank you to everyone for coming to support the event, we hope you enjoyed it. Thankfully the sun shone almost as much as the athletes! For more information and many more pictures please go to the website and click on the link in the ‘Gallery’ section. Well done to Brazil Yellow Team winning with 393 points!!!

Lego Trading Cards: Ahead of the school summer fayre in a couple of weeks, we will be selling packs of the collectable Lego Trading Cards for 10p per pack from Monday. There will be a stall at the fayre for children to make swaps to help them complete their collections. All proceeds will go to the PTA.

Leavers Assembly: Everyone is welcome to come and bid a sad farewell to year 6 on the last day of term – Friday 21st July from 9-10:15am in the school hall. Tissues at the ready!

Mrs Parnell is recovering well after her operation and will be returning part-time from Mon 3rd July and full time from Mon 10th.

Class Photos: Just a reminder that Bentley Photographic are in school on Tuesday morning to take class photos. Don’t forget to brush your hair, wash your face and broaden that smile!

Parent Governor Vacancy: Don’t forget the deadline for your nomination is rapidly approaching. You have until Monday to get your nomination in. All the information you need is on the school website.

Reports: The end of year reports will be out soon. Children and teachers are busy reflecting on progress & successes throughout the year. You will also receive a comment sheet to complete and return to school as acknowledgement of your child’s Learning Journey report. It would be great to have all comment sheets returned before the end of the term this year!

Head Pupil Update: Head Pupils will be reviewing class learning with Mrs Austin over the next few weeks. They will also be delivering road safety sessions with KS1 children as a follow up to the safeguarding work already taking place.

KS1 Home Corner: We are looking for some items to make the home corner more homely and realistic. If you have any of the following items that you no longer require and would be willing to donate, they would be most appreciated. We are looking for: kettle, hair straighteners, hair dryer, curtain pole, photo frames, kitchen storage tins, kitchen utensils, old keys, 2017 calendar, and any other items you think may be appropriate.

Chelsea FC Talent Day: Chelsea FC Foundation are looking to recruit the best local talent via their popular Talent Day. This year’s event is on Thursday 24th August 2017 on the Astroturf at Tendring Education Centre, Jaywick Lane, Clacton-on-sea, CO16 8BE. As always, it is free to attend and is a great opportunity to showcase your child(ren)’s footballing talents. If you wish for your son or daughter to attend this year’s Talent Day to be considered for selection into the Football Development Centre, then please book online at www.chelseasoccerschools.co.uk and enter the code: CFDC-TAL-DAY-17

Crucial Crew: Today Foxes have travelled to Stowmarket to take part in the Crucial Crew event. We will hopefully have photos and details to share with you on next week’s newsletter – why not check the website in the meantime to see if anything has been uploaded there!
