Copdock Weekly Update 19/01/18

Newsletter – 19th January 2018

Cake Sale: A huge thank you and well done to Squirrels!!! The volume of donations of cakes for last weeks sale meant we were able to host another sale on Monday as well! An amazing £90 was raised – a brilliant result. Next up is Foxes on 2nd February – the gauntlet has truly been laid down.

Dodgeball Festival: Due to the weather and closure of the Orwell Bridge, the planned dodgeball festival was postponed this Thursday. A new date is being sought and we’ll let you know when this has been re-arranged.

“Grow Your £10” Craft Fayre: It’s come to the PTA’s attention that several pupils have opted for product based fundraising schemes as part of the “Grow Your £10” project. As a result we are considering creating a Copdock Primary School Craft Fayre so that pupils can sell their wares. We would like to gauge potential interest, so if your child would be interested in trading at the event please email [email protected] or speak to a member of the PTA. Thank you.

Enterprise Workshop: Don’t forget the first workshop with Martin & Mark is next Thursday lunchtime. If you would like a slot to discuss your ideas please complete a slip & hand it into the office.

Bingo: A exciting game of bingo is being organised for Friday 9th February after school for an hour, £1 each, as part of the “Grow your £10” challenge. Keep an eye out around school for posters giving more details. Flyers will come home nearer the time, so mark it in your diary now.

KS1 PE Kit: As the children will be taking part in outdoor PE lessons this term, could you please ensure your children have a dark coloured tracksuit/long sleeved top & jogging bottoms, in school all week.

Minecraft Club: After half term we are looking to run a Minecraft club on a Thursday evening. It will run from 22nd February to Easter, from 3:15pm until 4:15pm. Costing will be 50p per session to cover the license fee. However, there are only 10 spaces available so please let the office know if your child would be interested in attending. Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Maths SATS Booster: Foxes have been taking part in Maths SATS booster sessions during the school day rather than after school.

Dinner Menu Change: On Thursday 25th January there will be a change to the menu for lunch, it will be roast turkey instead of chicken. Please ensure dinner money is in a named, sealed envelope and either posted into the mailbox, or the children put it in the register boxes, thank you.

Attendance Policy: As per the email sent today and the leaflet the children have come home with, please familiarise yourself with the updated attendance policy available on the school website.
