Copdock Weekly Update 17/03/2023

Dodgeball

The children reported that "We played dodgeball at Inspire, we played 12 games of 2 minutes duration.  We played the same team 3 times.  We won all but one of our games.  We tried really hard and worked as a team really well."  Both Bentley and Copdock represented the Federation brilliantly and everyone enjoyed the chance to play.

Red Nose Day

Today the children and staff came to school wearing red in support of Red Nose Day.  We have raised £73 for this great cause.  Thank you for your support and donations.

Online Safety Update

Nationally, there has been an increase of children/young people uploading illegal imagery, and parents often are not sure how best to manage this.  The Internet Watch Foundation have put together a guide for parents (attached) which supports how to have conversations with children, giving examples of approaches and sentence starts.  This is particularly useful for those aged 10-16 years.  Don't forget to check out advice and guidance here too Resources for Parents | SWGfL.

PTA Easter Trail

Please see attached the poster for our PTA Easter Trail taking place on Sunday 26th March.

Easter Bonnets

Don't forget our Easter Bonnet parade at our service on Thursday 30th - get crafting now!

Easter Lunch

On Wednesday 29th March we will be offering a special Easter Lunch - see menu attached.  Please note this does not need to be pre-ordered on this occasion.  Those attending Cross Country that afternoon will have time to eat before they go.  It will be charged at £2.50 for those KS2 children who usually pay for their dinners, and can be paid in the usual way - cash in a labelled envelope, or via School Spider.  As we approach the end of term, please ensure all meals taken have been paid for.

Parent Consultations

The slots are available until next Friday, so if you haven't already, make sure you book a slot with the class teacher via the website.

Parent Governor position

We are pleased to inform you that we now have a new application for the post of Parent Governor: Mrs Gemma Mark. Her statement for sharing can be seen below:

My daughter has been at the Bentley School for the past six months and I would like to support the schools however I can to keep improving for both the community and the students. I am looking to bring an open mind to the role and a strong commitment to the role and school. I am currently on the Parish Council for Tattingstone so I understand what it takes to on a board and make decisions. I am a hard working, organised and motivated individual who embraces new challenges. I enjoy meeting new people and trying to make a real difference.
