Copdock Weekly Update 09/07/2021

KS1 Walk

On Thursday our KS1 children prepared their own healthy lunch, and went on a walk around the village.  Thankfully it stayed dry.

Foxes Residential

It's been very quiet in school this week with Foxes out on their long awaited residential. They all appear to have had a fabulous time and are looking forward to a good sleep in their own beds.

End of Year Reports

Please see the letter sent to you today via the website for details on how to access your child's report.  Please follow the link to the Google Form to confirm receipt.

Menu Change

Our caterers have swapped the menu around a little next week.  On Monday, pizza will be on offer and on Tuesday the meatballs will be the option.  The desserts will be as advertised.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused, this is beyond our power.

Last Clubs

Please note that the KS1 Maths and English clubs will finish next week, there will be none running in the last 2 days of term.

Tudor Day

Don't forget our Tudor Day next Wednesday.  We're looking forward to seeing your costumes if you choose to dress up.  Please also see attached leaflet about the Tudor & Craft Benefit Fayre being held in Bentley in August.  You can re-use your costume and there are prizes available for on both days for adults and children.  Entrance is via cash donations and most activities are available for a nominal fee - all cash please, no card machines.  All donations are in aid of life saving cancer treatment.  The child they are fundraising for has a brain tumour and requires 6 lots of treatment costing £3500 per treatment.  Please support the event in August.

Top Class

As with this week's First Class supplement, next week there will be a Top Class supplement containing photos of our year 6 class.  This will be available in the local press on Wednesday 14th July.

Dinner Monies

If would be greatly appreciated if all dinner monies to the end of term could be paid by the end of next week so that we can get everything banked before the summer holidays.  We are a man down in the office at the moment and would be most grateful for your assistance.

Biggest Sing

You may recall we took part in the Young Voices Biggest Sing the other week, we have received confirmation that, as part of the event, we broke a Zoom World Record for The Largest Children's Zoom Choir in the World!  In the process we raised £32.35 for Place to Be.  Thank you for your support.

Raffle Tickets

Today was the deadline to get your raffle tickets in.  Please return them as soon as possible.

Dressdown for Tombola

We will be holding a dressdown day next Friday 16th July.  Pupils are invited to come into school in non-uniform for donations of a bottle or a prize suitable for the tombola stall at the Community Fete.

Donations

We are looking for a donation of a pair of hanging basket hooks to help us improve the welcoming look of our school.  If you have any brackets that need a new home, please let us know.

School Elections

Please remember our School Council Elections will take place on 16th July.  Parents can support children to prepare for these at home, we are happy to display posters around school.  The head pupil presentations will take place on 15th July.  Again, please support your child at home to prepare for this.  You can refer back to previous information on last week's newsletter.

Year 6 Leavers

We will be hosting a Leavers Assembly on the last day of term for Year 6 parents to attend.  We will have to restrict it to 2 adults per family, but more details will come your way soon.

Summer Camps

Don't forget to keep an eye on the website for anything new we've been asked to share with you.  There are still spaces available on the football summer camp for just Copdock and Bentley pupils, plus one of the parents from Bentley is running a Dance, Arts & Crafts Fun Day too - more details are on the website of these and many more activities.
