Singing

It was lovely to see so many children join us at Bypass Nurseries for their charity evening.  They sang a mixture of traditional and modern songs beautifully and this hopefully encouraged those attending to get into the Christmas spirit.

Governor Update

As governors we have been particularly impressed this term by  pupils' progress, seen during our visits to both schools.  Children have been producing work of and incredibly high standard.  One example being of Year 5&6 Art lessons on Hundertwasser.  The children were all producing artwork in his style and were able to speak so eloquently on the subject.  Visits from our Local Authority partner and other Headteachers have also acknowledged the positive impact of our provision on learning.

A special thank you also to our Head Pupils who spoke so confidently and sold our school well to prospective parents on the Open Evenings.

If you would like to find out more about joining our Governing Body, please see the attached information.  We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor and two Co-opted Governors.

'Be Internet Legends' day
Thursday 8th December was 'Be Internet Legends' day and KS2 children explored the importance of well-being whilst online. They took part in an assembly and discussed some of the ways to ensure they are safe, respectful and responsible in how they use online sites. Please talk to your children about staying safe online, not having access to phones and tablets in their bedrooms at night and remember you can access a range of helpful information here Parents and Carers - UK Safer Internet Centre

PE Days

Due to the performances taking place on Monday, we have swapped our PE days to Tuesday.  Children need to come into school wearing their uniform on Monday and wearing PE Kits on Tuesday.  Please also note there are no after school clubs running next week.

Performances

Don't forget, entry to watch the performances is by ticket only.  These were sent home today.  Children should arrive at 5:40pm for the KS1 evening performance on Monday, and at 5:45pm ready to go, for the KS2 evening performance.

Menu Changes

Please note there is a change to dessert on Monday - children will be offered jelly not yoghurt.  As we are having our pre-ordered Christmas lunch on Thursday, there is a change to the menu on Wednesday.  Next week we are offering breaded chicken or vegetable goujons in a wrap with wedges followed by either ice cream or a smoothie.  As the kitchen that supplies our meals are producing Christmas dinner for their school on Wednesday, there will be no jacket potatoes available.

Christmas Celebrations

Next week is the last week of term!  We have lots of exciting things going on.  On Monday KS1 take to the stage for their performance, and on Wednesday KS2 perform.  We have our pre-ordered Christmas lunch on Thursday when children are invited into school in school uniform but may wear a festive jumper.  Please ensure if you did not pre-order a meal that you send a packed lunch as no dinners are available to order on Thursday.  Parents are also invited into school at 2:45pm on Thursday to see Foxes share their guitar skills and the choir will be singing some festive favourites.  As Friday is the last day of term, children are welcome to come into school wearing Christmas jumpers with their school unforms.

At the end of term please ensure all lunch boxes, water bottles, jumpers, medications and so on are taken home.

Dinner Money

Please ensure all dinners taken this term are paid for by Friday either by cash in a named envelope or via the school website.  If you are unsure how many outstanding meals your child has, please ask.
