Woodpeckers Friday 4th September

Date: 4th Sep 2020 @ 4:42pm

Welcome to our first blog post of the year!

It was a delight teaching Woodpeckers on their first day back today. I was particularly impressed with the enthuastic approach many children took to the variety of tasks we completed. We have been extremely busy, but the children kept up with the quick pace and all have made a very positive start in their new class.

Together we learnt about our new routines and how these will help to keep us safe in school. We played an outside game called 'Zip, Zap, Boing!' which the children loved. In the afternoon, we drew a self-portrait using pencil, collaboratively wrote our class charter and played a maths game called 'Beat the Teacher'.

We used an online spinner to play this place value maths game, which some children said they would like on the school blog. You need at least two players, paper, pen and the spinner with numbers 0-9 (link below).

Please keep checking our blog posts daily, as all children will receive a CGP grammar revision book on Monday.  They will need this book every day. It will be their homework, and children can find out what page they need to complete by checking the page number, which will be posted daily on this blog.

Thank you for a wonderful first day Woodpeckers, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
