Kate Greenaway: 5 children from Copdock joined 5 children from Bentley travelling to East Bergholt High School to take part in CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Children’s Book Awards Shadowing Scheme. They read, discussed and reviewed children’s fiction books, and voted on their favourite.

High School Transition: In preparation for their transition day at East Bergholt High School in a couple of weeks, Gavin Hetherington, the assistant headteacher, came to visit our year 6 children to discuss their induction and to meet the pupils.

 

One of the Bentley parents & the deputy head at Bentley are going head to head in a Triathlon challenge THIS weekend. They are doing a 250m pool swim, a 21.5km bike followed by a 5km run. They are raising money for the new improvements at Bentley School ready for September. If you guess the time nearest to their race times you will win a prize! £2 to guess both times – cash prize for the nearest guess! You have until the end of TODAY (Fri 16th) to get your entry in – email

Next Week: We have a busy week ahead of us: On Monday, Foxes children are going to Jerwood Dancehouse for a music event – don’t forget your packed lunches, or flutes! On Tuesday it’s Sports Afternoon!!! Don’t forget your suncream, hats & lunch (if you haven’t ordered one). On Thursday we have a Dress Down Day in exchange for a bottle donation for the summer fayre – wear something BRIGHT. Finally, on Friday it’s Crucial Crew for Foxes – again, packed lunch & plenty to drink is required. Year 4 children are having a sleepover at Bentley on Friday night after the Woodpeckers Cake Sale, and don’t forget the School Council Shop is open on Friday too!

 

 

This half term is really busy with lots going on. To keep up to date please ensure you read the newsletters and check the website for information/confirmation of events. The noticeboard outside school is also updated each week to inform you of what is on the schedule for that week.
