Copdock Weekly Update 03/11/17

Shared Learning: Thank you to all the parents/carers who came along this afternoon to our shared learning session. We hope you enjoyed seeing what the children have been up to since the start of term.

U7s Football Tournament: On Thursday afternoon 7 very excited children went along to Inspire to meet up with their friends from Bentley for a football tournament. They all have a fabulous time and really enjoyed their first experience of representing the school.

Parents Evenings - Y1 to Y6: Slots are now available to book your appointments for parents evening on Wed 29th 3.30-5.30pm and Thurs 30th November 5-7pm for years 1-4. As last year, years 5 and 6 will be holding longer consultations and these will be spread across the week at varying times. Foundation children will be having another shared learning session in December and information about this date will be sent out nearer the time.

Class Cake Sales: As per the email sent earlier this week, please make a note of the dates of class cake sales – they will be listed on the key dates section below and on the board outside school, they have also been put on the website calendar, so no excuses for missing them! Foxes - get baking for next Friday.

Snack Shop: Snack Shop is now up and running at playtime. 10p per item up to a maximum spend of 20p.

Christmas Cards: Don’t forget to get working on your Christmas Card entries due in next week – see the email sent home on Friday from the PTA for more details.

Christmas Tree Service: We will be holding our annual Christmas Tree Service on Friday 1st December at 2:45pm. As we all much prefer a real tree to an artificial one, if anyone has any suggestions of where we could look for a donated tree please contact the office.

Dress Down: In return for a bottle donation, children can come to school in non-uniform on Friday 1st December. As this is also the Christmas Tree Service day, why not go for a full-on Christmas theme? The bottles donated will be used on the Blind Bottle Stall at the Christmas Fayre on Friday 15th December.

Transport Consultation: You may or may not be aware that there is currently a lot of discussion around transport arrangements to school and post-16 travel. Suffolk County Council are looking at ways to reduce their budget overspend on school travel. This could affect your children when they go up to high school. There has already been some consultation and the report has been referred back to Cabinet for further scrutiny.
